Project Description

Leap Motion

Leap Motion

Mission

Building a natural connection between people and technology

Joined as Head of Communications and transitioned to Senior Director of Communications and Experiences. I was brought on during a key stage in Leap Motion’s growth stage. The challenge was to position Leap Motion as an open innovator whose technology and design leadership are essential to shaping the future of new realities. To achieve this, it required a rebranding of the company’s primarily developer-focused communications strategy and striking a balance between maintaining its experimental nature and establishing a sense of inevitability and dependability.

Highlights

  • Collaborated with Global Creative Director and VP of Design, as well as Sr. Director of Marketing and Community to spearhead rebranding
  • Positioned Leap Motion as a key innovator within the VR/AR industry, resulting in strategic partnerships and opportunities with major players, such as Apple, Magic Leap, Microsoft, and Qualcomm
  • Created a sense of inevitability by establishing leadership through design research, further demonstrating capabilities and applications of the technology, and highlighting real-world use cases and experts validating its value
  • Created a cycle of influence among decision makers and key industry influencers, thereby leveraging their audience shares and clout to create demand for Leap Motion technology
  • Increased brand awareness among a broader audience and created a sense of ubiquity
  • Developed and executed viral PR and marketing campaign for Project North Star, an open source AR hardware and UX design project centered on interaction, generating 500+ articles, support from industry leaders and influencers, accelerated one major partner deal by two quarters, and directly resulting in lead generation and signed non-recurring engineering (NRE) deals
